OBD1 Wiring & Bypass Notes:
Many JDM ECUs (OBD1 and OBD2) do not utilize a VTEC oil pressure switch signal. However, if you are running a USDM ECU on an engine setup without this switch, you must bypass the wiring to ensure proper VTEC engagement:
Locate the VTEC oil pressure switch plug on your engine harness (connected to OBD1 ECU Pin D6).
Tap this wire directly into the VTEC solenoid valve wire (connected to OBD1 ECU Pin A4). Do not cut the VTEC solenoid wire (A4); simply connect the pressure switch wire to it.
Your ECU will recognize the signal and VTEC will engage normally.
